Subjects Taught
Eighth Grade, English

I went to middle school and graduated from Coffee County.  I went to Motlow right after high school with the intention of becoming a nurse.  I soon changed my major, and I graduated from Tennessee Tech University ready to teach.  I was blessed to get an additional endorsement to teach seventh and eighth grade.  I later decided to go back to MTSU, and I now have a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction.

This will be my sixth year teaching.  I have been at North all six of thoses years.  This year makes my fifth year in eighth grade ELA.  I can't imagine doing anything else!

Welcome to eighth grade! I am looking forward to an awesome year.  I am a firm believer that relationships are what makes the year great.  I look forward to having a special relationship with each of your students this year.  I also look forward to us working together to make this your child's best year yet.  Never hesitate to call or e-mail me with any questions or concerns about something in class, or if something is going on outside of class you think I should know.

As I stated, relationships are a huge part of a successful year in. Classroom.  So without further ado, let me introduce you to the teacher.

  • I absolutely LOVE my job and who I work with at NMS.
  • Purple is my favorite color.
  • I'm a resident of Estill Springs with my puppy, Heidi.
  • Football and softball are my favorite sports.
  • GO BIG ORANGE- Tennessee football takes up most of my autumn Saturdays.
  • Fall is my favorite time of year.
  • I am finally CANCER FREE!
  • I love Papa John's gluten free pizza!
  • Coffee is a must.

I hope to get to know each of you personally this year.

The crazy English teacher,
