Bio
Terry Hannaway is a 7th grade science teacher at North Middle School. After spending 31 years educating  children, Terry knows her students love to create and discover how things work in STEM.  Terry believes in building relationships with students and reminds her students that mistakes are going to be made in science!  And that's perfect because true learning comes from making mistakes! In her class,  mistakes are expected, inspected, and respected.  Terry has built a great rapport with her students.  Terry holds a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from MTSU, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from MTSU, and an Associates of Science Degree from MSCC.  She has been the Franklin County Teacher of the Year twice.  She not only attends many professional developments but she also holds professional developments for her cohorts and the Franklin County School District.  When not teaching, she can be found out cycling, running, and swimming.  Terry has completed the Boston Marathon twice, Ironman Chattanooga, and is an 12 time Half Ironman finisher.  She competes in many half and full marathons across the country.  Terry is an avid fan of the University of Tennessee Volunteers, loves Krispy Kreme donuts when the hot sign is on, and Diet Sun-Drop.  Terry believes that anything is possible to accomplish if you set your mind to reaching a goal!
